The proposals include big changes for Dewsbury Hospital. The key ones are that
Dewsbury A&E will no longer serve serious cases – though this has partly been the case for some time eg serious burn cases are already taken to Pinderfields
Maternity at Dewsbury will be a midwife lead unit only.

Local Lib Dems want Dewsbury Hospital to continue to provide first class health care for local people. We also want people to have the best possible NHS care. We know that some very specialist services can’t be done in every hospital.
We also know that moving the majority of specialist care to Pinderfields makes it very difficult for people because of the distances and inadequate and expensive parking.
