Kirklees Local Plan sent to Planning Inspector

I have been told today that the independent Kirklees Music School Trust have decided to close the Cleckheaton Music Centre from the end of this summer term.
The reasons given are the fall in numbers attending. To be viable, each centre needs around 200 children to attend but, sadly, Cleckheaton has only around 40 – 50.
The Kirklees Music School has said there will be music centres at Mirfield, Holmfirth, Colne Valley and Shelley. Clearly they expect children from Cleckheaton to be able to attend one of these.
I am dismayed at this decision. The music centre at Cleckheaton has helped make our area a vibrant one for local music making. I shall do all I can to get this decision reversed. Oh too cute Ellie! Holidays are great aren’t they? I must admit I don’t cook as often with the older one because the yonuger one wants to help too but always ends up licking things instead!! Those toffee rainbows look adorable. Gorgeous!!
