The small committee that is promoting a so-called free school in Birkenshaw are all active Tories. At the count of the votes for the local election, there they all were with large blue rosettes.

Schools have always maintained a non party political stance: and rightly so. Parents will be anxious about sending their children to a school which is promoted on a party political basis.

The new Tory councillor for Liversedge & Gomersal ward is one of this group. She has already said that her main purpose is to get the “free” school. Perhaps, she should also tell parents in her ward that this is NOT in the best interests of children who live in Liversedge, Littletown, Hightown or Windbank.
