The M62 will be closed overnight on Tuesday 19 April to allow the Highways Agency to lower the Whitechapel Road Bridge deck into position. 

All of the concrete work has been completed on the main bridge deck and the closure will allow the deck to be jacked into place. The M62 east and westbound carriageways will be closed between Junction 25 and 26 from 9pm on Tuesday 19 April to 6am on Wednesday 20 April.           

Once the bridge deck is in place work can begin on the final adjoining section of bridge deck over the motorway verges. Earth works will take place and utility companies will also begin to connect services across the bridge.
