Hundreds of people in Cleckheaton have signed our petition in support of the new specialist cancer treatment unit at Dewsbury Hospital. The petition is also circulating in Dewsbury where hundreds more have added their support.

This specialist cancer treatment unit was promised to Dewsbury Hospital as part of a re-organisation of specialist services in the Mid Yorkshire Hospital Trust (Dewsbury, Pinderfields and Pontefract). Special care for sick babies and for some children’s surgery has been transferred to Pinderfields. Then, at the last minute, the funding for the specialist cancer treatment unit at Dewsbury was cancelled.
