I represent Cleckheaton Ward in Kirklees which is a large Met. Council in W. Yorkshire. Cleckheaton Ward has a population of 16,000 and 7,500 households. The town of Cleckheaton is a mile from J26 on M62. As well as the town the ward includes the villages of Scholes, Hunsworth, Oakenshaw, and Drub. This urban/rural mix is in the foothills of the Pennines so has great scenery.
I was appointed to the House of Lords in September 2014 as a Liberal Democrat Life Peer.
